Linen cushion in Carolina Monarch linen designed by conservation biologist Susy Paisley.  

This design celebrates the migratory Monarch butterfly whose larval food-plants, the milkweeds, have been depleted to critically low levels by herbicides. The population of monarchs that spends its summers in the Carolinas, undertakes an incredible multi-generational migration every year to forests in Mexico where they overwinter. Plants like echinacea provide them with rich sources of nectar for this journey. As well as Echinacea purpurea, the most common of the coneflowers, this design features Echinacea leavigata, an endangered coneflower native to North Carolina.

Cover: Pure natural linen made from flax grown in France.

Filling: Cushion pad made of 100% pure natural British wool encased in high-grade cambric cotton fabric. The wool is from British sheep, sheared and processed in the UK. Wool cushions are a healthy, eco-friendly alternative to down or hollow fibre fillings and great for allergy-sufferers.

Small dimensions: 18" x 18"

Large Dimensions: 24" x 24"
